When are you open?
Tuesday - Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM. We are also closed January 1, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (Dec 24 & 25).
Is there transportation at the Park?
Yes. The park is developed around a nearly-mile long loop and we have a tractor-drawn wagon that circles every 20 or 30 minutes.
Is it all outdoors?
Because the Davis Mansion and George Ranch House, our two historic homes, display museum-quality artifacts, they are climate controlled for humidity and temperature. However, the rest of the park's historical amenities, from the Jones Stock Farm to the Sharecropper's Cabin to the working pens and tree house, are all subject to the whims of weather. We suggest that guests dress for the day's forecast.
How long does it take to visit the ranch?
We recommend that guests plan to arrive by 1:30 PM.. It generally takes about 3 to 31/2 hours to tour the park.
Can I take pictures at the Park?
We welcome amateur photographers! The Park has a variety of natural and historical settings which make for beautiful photographs.
For professional photography and private sessions; please contact our marketing department at marketing@georgeranch.org for schedules, rates and fees.
Do you have horses I can ride?
While we do have working horses, they are well-trained, one-rider types. They are part of our working staff and the cowboys' best partners. Dude ranches in Bandera (west of San Antonio) and Conroe (north of Houston) offer horses to rent for a day's ride. Please check the local chamber of commerce for more information.
Do you have overnight lodging?
Please check with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce or Rosenberg-Richmond Chamber of Commerce for local lodging information.
